This book had me laughing out loud. I had to keep on reading to see what happened to Josie and if she gets it together with Matt. And when her ex turns up it gives the story a nice little twist.
This was only the 2nd book I've read of Carole's and it didn't dissapoint me, it was a really light hearted fun read!
I have read several of Ms Matthews' novels as they are perfect when you don't want to have to work too hard and you just want the story to wash over you. This one is no different. It's an easygoing tale, the characters are compelling but I was disappointed to find the humour in this one more sarcastic than funny. In some cases this works, but usually when the story is told in the first person. This isn't and it spoiled the book for me as a result. It's a shame because I've thoroughly enjoyed her other books but this one was tainted by using sarcasm instead of humour.
I bought this book because I wanted to try a new author and it is probably the best read I have had in a long time. The descriptions, the metaphors, the language and the US/UK contrast are brilliantly folded into each other to make the most hilarious novel I have ever read! I could not put the book down. Buy it! Buy it! Buy it! It will keep you up all night...
Yet again, another great book from the pen of Carole Matthews. She has the ability to make you feel so close to her characters, you really CARE what happens to Josie Flynn. In addition the warm, witty humour is always evident to keep you turning the pages furiously. Well done Carole.
