It's a 4 star "chick-lit" book. Easy to read on the beach, and as I'm from liverpool originally I enjoyed it if only because it talks about my home town. Nice romantic story, nothing too deep ;o)

I can't believe anyone would give this story less than five stars. What on earth do people want, for heaven's sake. It was a great little read and kept me entertained while I recovered from flu! I love Liverpool, The Beatles etc and felt the way Carol captured the sink-estate residents was pretty much spot on.It was nice to do the Magical Mystery Tour again, even from the confines of the sofa this time. All threads were well woven and the end, although maybe predictable, was exactly what this reader wanted. Well done. You've come a long way since Platform 8. :-)

I have the greatest respect for any published author, and I have read many of Carole Matthews' books and enjoyed them. This book however, was not up to scratch. The plot was thin and predictable, the characters far too sweet, and the thought of three sink estate "hoodies" meekly picking up spades and gardening is so unbelievable. Perhaps if the "hoodies" had put the main character out of her misery in the early pages, we would have had a much better story.

I usually adore Carole Matthew's books and was thrilled when I spotted this at the airport as it was just what I needed for my long flight, but I was to be very disappointed. The storyline was weak and there were no laugh-a-minute experiences one expects with Carole's books. I did finish reading it, but really don't know why I bothered.

i absoublety loved this book read it in less than 5 days i have previously read some of carole matthews books and loved them so thought i would give it a try and i don't regret it one bit. its a heartwarming tale ,very touching and a feel good book ,a story loaded with laughter tears and hope that some times you find love in the most unexpected places. all you need is love is a romantic comedy about the diffrence a lick of paint and a lot of love can make to peoples live's sally freeman wants a better life for herself and her son charlie and her ex is still madly in love with her and in the end she is too

would read it over and over again
