I'm not a technical person but the book made me understand the complex methods of getting my website up to the top of Google. Would recommend to read all the way through first and then refresh yourself with the easy steps.
This was mentioned to me by someone I knew and (I don't know why actually) I went straight to the books website and not Amazon to buy it.
Annoying really as I'm a 'Prime' member at Amazon too.
Haven't heard anything from them at all; they took the money and processed the payment, read two emails (I do a read receipt with all emails sent) but haven't replied to either.
My main motivation for ordering it was the book plus the 'free' forum for help. I think I may have been disapointed, even if I had received the book!
Looking at their site again, it appears they haven't updated it in months and I wish I had looked into it further when I ordered.
Have asked PayPal for a refund but we have to 'give it' 30 days or such before we can ask for our money back.
Very, very annoying.
Will certainly try Amazon first in future!
I have been in the SEO industry for a number of years (when i started there were no books so it was all trial and error).
This book is as simple as it can be using real world examples and taking you through step by step showing additional reading and tools (some of which are old but lets face it most SEO techniques are the same as they were 10 years ago! not sure what some people want for £10 !).
Having read (and bought) a stack of SEO books i rate this one of the highest and have recommended it to many people and ALL have said it helped them a great deal.
If your an expert forget it as you will already know the contents but if your new to SEO and am not terribly computer literate this book will take you through it all in baby-steps.
Stop reading the reviews and BUY IT :)

This book is easy, on the surface to read, however it still can be fairly inpenetrable at times. The book also seems to assume there is only one reason for a website - for people to buy things. There are websites being set up, inculding the one I am undertaking, that is not commercial in the obvious way but still needs to be optimised.
I found it to be more of a big advert for a service you have to sign up for and pay a monthly fee, I returned the book and bought "search engine optimisation for dummies", you learn more from the inside cover on that than you can from this whole book.
